Yesterday I had the privilege to attend a fantastic event organized by Cartier in Paris. Actually Cartier booked the full Montana hotel, located on the left bank, to organize an exhibition to the international press of the latest creations of the brand, from the leather goods to the fragrances... without forgetting of course the watches!
Ready to enter the hotel and to discover the exhibition which took place in the different suites of the hotel?
I started from the top of the hotel with the room dedicated to the watches.
These gamblers play their ladies' jewels... and keep their watches. I think it is a wise decision!
One of them was wearing the new Calibre Diver Blue which features for the first time at Cartier a ceramic bezel.
The pink gold version:
I'm happy to see this Santos 100 Carbon version. A black watch with a nice touch of red:
Cartier decorated with care the different suites and I was surprised by the flawless details:
The Calibre Diver Blue on the wrist.
Actually, I was a bit disappointed by the watch when I discovered it at the SIHH. I found the blue too light. But it is much better with natural lights. I will come back to it later.
The Pink Gold version. The combo is nice but I prefer the black version with this case. I believe that black matches better pink gold than blue.
The case diameter remains the same: 42mm.
This one is for me a winner. The Santos 100 Carbon is a casual yet elegant watch. I like the little touch of red brought by the second hand. The dark grey ADLC is a nice color with some lovely shades with the light.
There is a big change with this watch. It is now powered by the in-house movement 1847 MC. This movement plays here its role, its main mission: to replace the ETA movements used by Cartier. It is a very good move for Cartier since the MC1847 is a movement with an excellent winding efficiency.
I was less convinced by the Ballon Bleu Carbon. I think that its pebble style, the case shape work less with this decorative approach than the Santos 100.
Please note that this watch is also powered by the 1847 MC movement.
Let's play!
Then I went to the bathroom to smell the new fregrances...
... and to enjoy the tube!!!
I like this kind of hot water!
I'm ready to dive into the tube!
This chess game was created by Cartier:
Let's go downstairs to discover a different room dedicated to leather goods! Or should I say to the safari?
The next room was dedicated to jewelry. A true mise en scene !
I thought that she already had enough jewels... but I was wrong!
The best room was the preppy / lollipop one! I love it maybe because I love this angling game! Congrats, you caught the yellow one!
I think that I would have spent more time in the room! I have never thought that angling was such a fascinating game!
Anyway, since I'm a very professional and focused guy, I could appreciated the perfect craftsmanship of the leather goods and the citrus colors!
I told you that this room was very sweet!
What a wonderful gift!
I had to leave the room with a lot of regret!
The last room was a kind of wrap-up of the full exhibition (I sadly missed one room due to time constraint) and I could see some watches again including two pieces from the high horology segment:
I was back to the groudfloor and I left the Cartier Hotel with music...
... and a last seducing smile...
I will come back during the next weeks about the key watches of the 2016 collection. I will have the opportunity to shoot again the high horology pieces and the ability to do it with natural lights will improve the quality of the pictures compared to the SIHH ones. The Calibre Diver Blue gave the proof of this obviousness. The pictures I took at the Hotel give much more credit to the visual rendering of the watch.
Thanks a lot to the Cartier France team for this superb organization!
