I was very fortunate to be invited by Chopard to attend the LUC event which took place yesterday in the prestigious venue: the Automobile Club de France. Actually, I wasn't able to remember when the latest big event organized by Chopard took was organized in Paris. Of course, Cannes remains a big spot on the agenda year after year and some dinners related to the festival are organized in Paris in this respect. But I think that yesterday's event had been the first one from a quite long time dedicated to the watches offer of the brand.
The focus was put on the LUC collection. It is logic: it was also the case of the 2019 collection and you will find here my report about these novelties:
It is very important for Chopard to communicate about the LUC collection. People tend to forget it: Chopard is one of the most important manufactures in Switzerland when it comes to the ability to develop complications.
I propose you to browse the pictorial report of the event.
The event took place at the Automobile Club de France, one of the most beautiful buildings of the Place de la Concorde:
We all know the special link which exists between Chopard and the classic cars world thanks to the involvement in the Mille Miglia race:
Porsche France contributed to set the scene and to welcome the guests with an appropriate way:
Well, there was also a non-Porsche car and nobody could blame its presence!
The star of the event was the Chopard LUC collection:
The atmosphere of the first part of the event:
The view on the Place de la Concorde is spectacular. The Place was a bit messy due to the post Bastille day works and the preparation of the final stage of the Tour de France:
Champagne Louis Roederer was the partner of the event:
A good event always requires the presence of a watchmaker behind his workbench!
And he was wearing a cool piece too!
And obviously working on a LUC movement:
Who said that Chopard does only classic movements?
Caroline Scheufele represented her family at the event. She highlightd the special relationship she has with Paris:
Maxime Labey focused on the key role played by the LUC collection in the Chopard offer:
And Pau Infante described the key features of the LUC collection:
A guest brought this Mille Miglia 1990 Pocket Chronograph. A true souvenir of the first years of the partnership between Chopard and the race:
I didn't bring a watch but I was wearing a beautiful Chopard tie inspired by the Mille Miglia!
The room was crowded and the party was successful:
The guests could enjoy a high quality cocktail:
But time was coming to go upstairs and to start the second part of the event... on the roof terrace of the building of the Automobile Club de France! For me, it was a big premiere!
Paris will ever be Paris. What a spectacular view!
Yes, it is a panoramic picture, I tried to do my best!
Even if the event was dedicated to the LUC collection, I was happy to put on my wrist a Mille Miglia chronograph:
The Quattro remains one of my fav pieces from the LUC collection. I have a secret wish: I hope that one day Chopard replaces the date display by a different complication!
A refined atmosphere: we are clearly in Chopard's world.
The roof terrace is a magic place:
Music!
And the DJ had a great wristgame:
And so does Caroline Scheufele and her amazing Tourbillon piece:
The XP is a lovely piece. This is an unusual combo: the 2017 version of the XP with the cashmere fabric strap which has been released a few months ago at Basel:
I love the lay-out of the movement and the micro-rotor:
The Tour Eiffel starts to sparkle:
The Chopard team, Pau Infante, Caroline Scheufele and Maxime Labey:
With Caroline:
I told you she loves Paris!
The atmosphere of the second part of the event:
Even when the night was falling, I tried to take pictures of the watches! I'm a very committed guy!
The night came and it was time for me to leave the party...
... without forgetting a last visit at the LUC exhibition on the main room:
I would like to thank a lot the Chopard team for the perfect organization. This event was really successful and all the guests enjoyed it.
