Mahesh's pursuit of the A. Lange & Söhne Langematik Anniversary in platinum with an enamel dial highlights a common challenge for collectors: finding rare, desirable timepieces in excellent condition. His appreciation for its 37mm case, micro-rotor movement, and zero-reset function resonates with enthusiasts who value both aesthetic and mechanical excellence. This article explores why this particular reference holds such enduring appeal and offers insights into its market presence.

An exquisite enamel dial.
but different take on watchmaking !
My collection keeps reminding me that time marches on so enjoy it to the the fullest. All the best my friend Tony
Consider this: It's the year 2001, Lange is making about 5000 watches per year, and the brand releases a limited edition of FIVE HUNDRED (500) pieces to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the brand's modern inception! Making 500 examples of the same watch is essentially turning it into a standard-production piece with a predictable shelf life of many years. It took Lange forever to sell all of these. Huge supply, far less demand. Only years after they were sold out did interest in this 500-piece
It is true, the journey brings the most joyful memories & that adds personal value to a timepiece !
the value is the overall package…Pt case, enamel dial with a microrotor movement and a zero reset…that at a retail price of 23k ! If it had been 39 or 40mm case, I think it would have been much appreciated than the current size imho. Best, Mahesh.,
