I love the grey dial of the zeitwerk date. But you have to have a wrist for it, it is large and thin and can look like a pancake on smaller wrists ... For me the striking versions are a bit gimmicky and don't add much relative to the basic model.
Feel the black very harsh and limits the use...
Or Maybe it's just the red highlights cuz I like the APROO grey ceramic and ghost a lot but then they are sporty. VC Cornes de vache -which I admire a lot too - has quite similar color codes with just a bit blue added. So it cud just be a one-off eerie vibe. Btwn these the striker wud be my pick.
I love the black dial striking time. Does not look dated or gimmicky to me. I like how the gongs fill out the empty space that is there on the original. But it is the largest version although doesn't wear as large as dimensions to me. The original is amazing as well. I've tried on all three many times, including the Date. The Date is beautiful and the technical improvements (power reserve, additional pusher for hours, ...) are significant. Sorry I'm no help. Going through the same deliberations
I’m a sucker for changing straps over time... to me the black dial is nice but has more of formal look / occasional watch
Having worn a white gold Striking Time, I realized the watch was too big and the strap was too small. Thus applying too much watch on a small surface area. Imagine a big heavy 7 seater SUV with tiny brake discs. It's just not comfortable. Wore it for two hours in the house and never wore it again afterwards. The watch is nearly Panerai sized, but unlike a Panerai, the strap is fairly narrow; Panerai has wide straps to evenly distribute the weight of the watch. BUT SUCH A COOL WATCH. I'd definite
