Traditionally here's another looking back at the end of another year here on WatchProSite.
This one has been weird…tough…heavy year…..year of illness and break ups…year of delusions and clarity…
year of
heavy decisions and lost friendships….year of change and consolidation…..
…
Still 2 things were constant as in all the years in review before…watches and friendship.
1. Watches
First watch of year
was linen dial tonneau shaped Zenith Surf in NOS condition with original box strap
buckle and crown…true time capsule

Zenith story for 2018 was concluded with another funky Zenith so called TV screen with gorgeous lacquered dial.

Then out of the blue amazing gift for my Bday Seiko Presage Blue Enamel

and once out of it I ended with two Rolex watches...both named after vivid characters...
Submariner14060M aka LGF

Interesting thing is that this was also year all my kids got their mechanical watches my youngest and middle got their first watches from their little friend from the North
G-P and Eterna respectively….small and bit bigger regarding age…
and end of the year brought completion for all my kids the oldest got his watch as well….the elusive Olma

2. GTGs
Not many this year but those few were furious…savage in one word...first was in
Croatia…one dear friend was kind enough to gather small crew from all over EU to come
and celebrate Bday with me…it was ecstatic and it was breaking point on many levels…..

after it I took sabbatical just to return from it to next GTG.... Mythical Dutch GTG…and that one was epic and unforgettable on many counts

In the end what I
realized this year for good is that time is now…there is no tomorrow…present is all we
have

And in between there
were drink or two now and then with very dear friends

and with my brother from different mother

I hope to see you very soon again my friend, can tell you a bit about my 2017/2018. Cheers, HSTE
It seem that we both had our fair share of shitty Year. But the key is to push forward and be positive thinking of the good moments. It looks that you guys had great time rocking that Grappa (for those not from Croatia, we locals call it "Rocket fuel"). And i gotta say D, great collection but that DayDate looks like a badass Disco Porno watch! Cheers
It was great to meet you during our Dutch GTG . 🙏🏻 hope there will be many more of these occasions in the near future .
whatyagonnado ;-) It is true wrist porn...I had many restraints toward Rolex specially gold ones cos they carry super heavy burden specifically here but once on wrist....it had to be seen and felt on wrist... then magick happen...they are not called wise guys for nothing ...One evil Dutch Dude opened my eyes for this one ....after that it all ended for me...at least for now ....rakija je lijek Cheers D
Tried it recently (new model) with gray dial and was blown away (and this coming from a guy who can't stand godl watches). It really is that good!
Literally 'year end party' and 'party to start the new year' usually with friends or conversely with co-workers... Enjoyed the post and the photos... particularly the rabbit hole photo ; ) Casey
