Eddie Jordan: racer and former F1 Team owner. Now commentator on F1 racing.
In the flesh, Eddie is like most racers...very slight and lean; not 'big' at all.  Nice chap and a great wheeler dealer.  Tried to sell me on the merits of his watch almost before I took any photos.  smile

Apologies to Eddie that my flash misdirection blinded him.

Yes...his father was the late Kenzo Tange, renown architect.
As Paul says, he is a little taller than his famous father but builds his buildings a little shorter!  smile

Are Armin Strom watches a commonly seen watch in Singapore? Obviously, there was a high concentration at this event, but are they often seen "in the wild" on a regular basis? Hope you had fun at the races! Cheers, Daos

Daos, Although Singapore is avant-garde with new watch brands, I was a bit surprised by the number seen in the Paddock. Most were on foreign wrists though. Although Armin Strom sponsor the Marussian F1 Team, it was not like the big brands spending millions of dollars further up Pit Row :-) I guess the tech-design, fenestrated dials and light but chunky designs attract the fans. I asked Mr Tange as an architect, what did he like about the designs. He said that he liked flamboyant designs and new

Mr Armin Strom is an old independent watchmaker noted for his skeletonisation work. A few years ago, new investors came into the company and now we have Armin Strom A.G. Mr Strom is still an advisor to the brand. We will hear more about Armin Strom watches in the next few months although Don Corson has already covered some technical aspects. Regards, MTF

nilomis, Currently, Armin Strom use a mix of in-house and modified base movements. Eventually they aim for 100% in-house. See Don Corson's Baselworld 2012 Report: CLICK Regards, MTF
