MichaelC, a long-time collector of Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshores, shares his experience with a new nubuck strap, a departure from his usual style. His post explores the aesthetic transformation this strap brings to his timepiece, particularly how it complements the smoked dial. MichaelC's insights offer a fresh perspective on customizing iconic AP models and the potential for new strap materials to redefine a watch's character.

What can I say, he got me...

Nubuck by AP... what could be better?  I have worn Royal Oak Offshores for 20 years now.  This is quite a transformation and honestly one I never thought of.  I expect this strap to patina, and then it will pair even better with the smoked dial.  But I sense AP made this strap for this dial.  I could see it gong on the blue and black dials too.  Thank you AP smile

Growing your far reaching network of deviants, as usual... (but I think I am in that club too, so it's OK!)

The watch / strap combo looks tremendous. It's a summer - autumn look to it. M4

And does this piece have the quick change system? If so, all the more reason to experiment. A little patina will likely make it more attractive too.

The quick change system came along at the right time for me... aging eyes make changing the old school ones a bit tougher!
