edm123452, a new contributor to the Audemars Piguet forum, shares a deeply personal connection to luxury watches, particularly the Royal Oak. His recent acquisition of a rose gold Royal Oak Chronograph, reference 26022OR, passed down from his father, offers a unique perspective on inheriting horological legacy and the experience of wearing a significant timepiece at a younger age. This post highlights the enduring appeal of specific Royal Oak references and the emotional value intertwined with watch collecting.

Hello everyone, I hope you’re all doing well.
As stated on this thread’s title, I’m new to this forum. Please excuse my botched English as it not my primary language.
I’ve always wanted to talk watches with fellow enthusiasts, so this is my attempt on doing so.
I’ve always liked watches, and have been surrounded by watches since I was little since my family likes to collect nice pieces. Therefore I feel I’ve been fortunate enough to acquire watch knowledge from a very young age.
Out of all watch brands, Audemars Piguet has always struck me as my absolute favorite, and specially the Royal Oak. I remember seeing my dad wearing his rose gold Royal Oak Chronograph and me being absolutely in love with that piece. Nothing else he wore topped or even matched that watch.
He’s a big guy so the 39mm Royal Oak never scratched his itch, so now he has transitioned to the Offshore collection as it suits him better. He prefers a heftier watch on his wrist.
This year I’ve been more than fortunate enough to have been gifted his first Royal Oak, and I couldn’t be more thankful of first; owning an AP and second and most importantly; his very own AP!
This is a 26022OR. 39mm rose gold chronograph with a leather strap.
I absolutely ADORE how it fits my wrist and how it looks. I kind of feel out of place wearing this very special watch as I’ve never wore gold timepieces before and this is a “big boy watch” to my relative young age.
The feeling of engaging the chronograph feels very precise and sharp compared to other watches I’ve wore.
I look forward to wearing this piece and taking care of it.

That AP chrono is great, don't worry about age, enjoyment is all that matters, wether you are 20 or 90 years old.

Amazing to see new posters and their diverse history and collection. I've always loved earlier versions of the RO Chronograph - as they have a certain elegance that I really like! And the gold adds a level of sophistication. Wear it proudly! Peter
