MichaelC reports on NBA superstar and Audemars Piguet ambassador LeBron James's visit to the AP Manufacture in Le Brassus. This article precedes the launch of his new signature watch, detailing his tour through the museum and various ateliers, including the Specialities and Grande Complication workshops.
Well, with the launch of the new AP LeBron James watch coming the end of this week, it is a good time to read about Mr. James recent visit to the Manufacture:
Audemars Piguet ambassador, crowned NBA champion as well as world’s Most Valuable Player for the second year running, LeBron James paid a one-day visit to the Manufacture in Le Brassus.
His visit included the Audemars Piguet Museum followed by a tour of the Manufacture des Forges where he spent time in various ateliers including the Specialities and Grande Complication.
“Visiting the Audemars Piguet Manufacture in Le Brassus for the first time was an amazing experience. It is such a beautiful place, and I really enjoyed learning and seeing firsthand how the watch is made from beginning to end,” said LeBron after his visit.
LeBron James has written one of the most impressive pages in basketball history over the past couple of seasons, with consecutive regular-season MVP awards, consecutive NBA titles as well as NBA Finals MVP trophies bracketing two Olympic gold medals. He has become the third player in league history after Michael Jordan and Bill Russell to win back-to-back Finals MVP and regular-season MVP awards.

Next stop, Miami September 27th, 2013. To be continued…
would have rather done it with LeBron. Guess neither of us made the cut for that one. Very excited to see what AP thought up for the LeBron piece. They have done a good job keeping this one under wraps.
Even without LeBron my AP visit was quite special and I would be thrilled to have the opportunity to tour AP with MichaelC. Best, JerryW
And surely would have preferred touring with LBJ than Noah as well ;-)* *technically, that statement is probably false. I like hanging with fellow PuristS. But then again, LeBron James is a superstar AP Ambassador... maybe we'll make him a Purist on Friday...
Excellence of factory tour is without question.
Best, JerryW
The watch is strong but classy. Definitely excited to see what they came up with.
