Martin, known as Bullit on WatchProSite, shares his long-awaited acquisition of the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak 16202ST. This article explores his journey to owning this horological milestone, reflecting on his prior choice of the 15300 over the 15202, and the unexpected allocation of the 50th-anniversary edition. His experience provides valuable insight into the current landscape of acquiring highly coveted luxury timepieces.
…and today I am over the moon. A dream comes true and I am so happy to add this icon to my collection. AP is since long my favorite brand and with quite some Apps in my collections.
In 2007 I have to decide myself between the 15300 and 15202 and selected the 15300 upon the more modern movement. Even I love my 15300 pretty much, more and more I was looking after the 15202. After the prices of the 15202 rocked into incredible heights, I thought ok, that was a missed opportunity.
When the 50th anniversary version was released two years ago, I tried to get a 16202, but I was openly told, that might be impossible. Nevertheless I was ordering one a bit later, but wasn‘t expecting an allocation. Now I received a big surprise with the call from the AP house. So happy and big thanks to the AP people to think at me with the allocation of this horological milestone piece.
For sure, an all time keeper!
