Nicolas (amanico) revisits a significant piece from his past collection: the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak City of Sails in steel. His reflection on why this particular reference ultimately left his collection, despite its iconic status, offers a valuable perspective on the often-overlooked importance of wearability in luxury watch ownership. This article delves into the nuances of collector choices, highlighting how personal comfort can outweigh even the most celebrated designs.

One I let go some 15 years ago, but not forgotten.

Alas, not the most comfortable one, and that was my main issue with this one.

Best,

Nicolas

Interesting, I thought all ROO are comfortable to wear based on their general design.🤔

I traded my ROO rubberclad + cash to this one

Wore for 1 year and sold for the same price I bought (still remember it was $15000). Miss my rubberclad more than this COS 😃 Now I only have 1 RO (92 jumbo)

There was one I preferred, much preferred, the Juan Pablo Montoya in titanium. This one I miss a lot!
