Audemars Piguet's "Philosophique" ref. 14289.002 dates back to 1982 and... I like it very much!

Being on time is certainly important in many social or professional situations, but taking one's time isn't always wasting it, and one single hand indicating only approximately the hour and minutes can be more than enough.

And AP has added a wonderful almost invisible feature: a turning-bezel with a gold stud or gemstone marker, which enables to read the time in another time-zone. Single hand & time-zone: simply unique.

To me, this small and elegant watch, simplified to the extreme, is as poetic as it is supposed to be β€œphilosophique”...

Best, Emmanuel

I’m glad you like it as much as I do !

As the photos show, I think it wears well, but small (it’s only 31mm).

#5 in one of your images is the "Zebra" 4274 SA

Would be a great target for a [RE]Master
