Our national pastime here.  One thing in this country that has always been great, and always will be great, is Major League Baseball.

My favorite team?  Not a big secret if you are a regular reader.  I was born in Boston, Massachusetts afterall.  I survived numerous heartaches.  I was 12 in 1986.  And with 2 outs in the 9th inning, my Dad proclaimed to me and my brothers "Boys, you are about to see history".  And we did.  Just more of the rip your heart out of your live body and watch it get stomped on type.

But I persevered, and was rewarded in 2004, 2007, and 2013.  And it is due time to update my jacket:

And how about this story for a devoted lad from Boston... in 2007, I attended both World Series games played in Colorado.  In Game 4, I was on the third deck when then Boston captain Jason Varitek fouled a ball our way.  It came so fast, and everyone scrambled for it.  I hunched down to try and block the liner.  At first nobody could spot it.  I could not believe my cat like reflexes missed it... and when I leaned back up, this foul ball was lodged in the left arm of the very jacket shown above.

If you do not believe in Divine intervention, you really should, because God gave me this most treasured possession (the ball, the other one I worked my ass off for!).

Today is a great day friends... Happy Baseball everyone!

Great story!

So happy when Boston broke the curse in the early 2000 and it was one of the best playoff runs! You really got an invaluable baseball right there and more than the watch I have to say!

I get chills just recalling the story.

I mean, what are the odds? To actually see my favorite sports team clinch a title on the home field of the city I now live in, and get a foul ball from the very game? Blessed moments, for sure.
