During a visit to the Breguet Beverly Hills Boutique there was one particular watch that really captivated me.  It is the Breguet 3797BR Tourbillon and Perpetual Calendar in the Classique Complications collection.  The watch is stunning and I haven't been this excited by a new watch in a very long time.

The Breguet 3797BR is available in platinum and 18 carat rose gold.  For me the rose gold matches the case and complication, and looks fantastic with the silvered dial.  I find the perpetual calendar subdials easy to read.  The date is displayed towards the top of the watch at the 12 o'clock position and is a retrograde subdial behind the hour and minute display.

On right hand side of the dial is the month indicator and a neat looking leap year indicator in the background.  The day is displayed on the opposite side of the dial near the 9 o'clock position.  Typical of Breguet watches, the dial has beautiful engine turned patterns.

The case is fitted with transparent caseback to show off the Breguet Caliber 558QP2 manual wind movement.  One minor detail that I wished that Breguet would have done was to use the heat blued screws for the plates in the movement.  I think it would have a nice visual contrast to the back of the movement.

You can see the how much space is given around the tourbillon.  The transparency around the tourbillon is stunning and mesmerizing to see.

I'm one of the few people that like folding clasps instead of tang buckles.  The rose gold clasp is a triple blade folding clasp and has a medium sized Breguet B logo integrated to the buckle.  The clasp has alternating brushed and polished finish to the edges.

The 18 carat rose gold case has the signature Breguet fluted caseband and at 41mm in diameter is very comfortable.  The case is 11.60mm thick and to me it is nicely proportioned.

One of the characteristics that I love about this watch is the hour display at the 12 o'clock position.  A frosted sapphire chapter ring is suspended above the dial.  It's opaqueness and the setting with the signature Breguet blued hands appears to float above the dial.  Roman numerals are presented in even numbers along the chapter ring with dots and diamond shaped indicators.

Here's another picture from a sharper angle where you can see the floating sapphire chapter ring.  It looks much cooler in person.

On my wrist it fits very comfortably and looks great to me.  I think I would change out the brown leather strap to a short black one.

I'm seriously tempted by this Breguet.  While discussing this watch with the boutique staff, I found out that there is a variation of this model, the Breguet 3795BR.  The 3795BR has the same tourbillon and perpetual calendar movement (and the awesome floating sapphire chapter ring) plus it is a fully skeletonized 558QP3 movement.  The entire dial and movement is skeletonized.  I think I found my next grail watch.  I'll have to drop by the boutique again soon whenever they have the 3795BR together with the 3797BR.

Thanks again to the Breguet Beverly Hills Boutique for their warm hospitality and allowing me to share these pictures.  The 3797BR is a beautiful watch and I can't wait to see the skeletonized version.  Next up I'll post pictures of the Breguet extra thin tourbillon.

About the Breguet Classique Minute Repeater Ref. 3797

The reference 3797 represents Breguet's approach to the minute repeater complication within the Classique collection. This reference delivers the traditional chiming mechanism in a relatively compact 36mm format, positioning it as an accessible entry point into Breguet's minute repeater offerings.

The watch features an 18k yellow gold case measuring 36mm in diameter with a fixed bezel configuration. A silver dial sits beneath sapphire crystal, while the manual-winding movement provides the mechanical foundation for the minute repeater function. Water resistance extends to 30 meters, reflecting the dress watch orientation of this timepiece.

This reference appeals to collectors seeking minute repeater complications in a more wearable case size. The 36mm proportions and yellow gold construction align with traditional dress watch conventions, making the 3797 suitable for collectors who prioritize the acoustic complication over contemporary sizing trends. The silver dial provides a neutral backdrop that complements the yellow gold case material.

Have not seen it yet and appreciate your pictures therefore. I must say: a great, great creation from Breguet with lots of charm and character. The beat ratio is also very interesting as it is only 18.000 / h, adding a lot tradition to this piece. Best Moritz

I too saw it in Las Vegas in RG. I wanted to see the platinum and the skeleton version, but I am thinking it is really nice to have the Breguet guilloche variants on the dial I have not determined if the watch has a single pusher to advance all date functions, as ths is a manual movement. Did you get any info about this? Best Joe

Hi Joe, very cool that you saw it in Vegas. I was just there at the Bellagio for the holiday weekend. Were there any other Breguet's that you saw there that you liked? There are three pushers on the watch, I'm not sure which functions each one sets. I'll have to find out. Regards, ED-209

But this was back in August. I went in specifically to see this watch. I only had a few minutes, as we were late for an appointment, but I did put it on. I just love all of the elements of this watch. They only had the RG so I could not compare. I want to get to NYC boutique this month to try and see it more Best, Joe

What is really good with this Watch is its proportions. Too often modern Breguet are too big, and sometimes, too thick, too. Here, this is not the case. The dial dcoration is top, too. Maybe a bit too busy for my taste, but the care in the dial finishings, is impressive. The movement, too. All the best, Nicolas.
