dla26 shares an in-depth look at his recently acquired Breguet Tradition Tourbillon 7047 with Fusee & Chain. This article delves into the meticulous process of acquiring a significant timepiece, highlighting the importance of authenticity verification and the unique experience of registering a pre-owned luxury watch with its original manufacturer. dla26's detailed photographic essay and practical advice offer valuable insights for both seasoned collectors and those new to the world of haute horlogerie.

The reference 5717 represents Breguet's offering within the Héritage collection, featuring an oval case configuration that distinguishes it from conventional round watch designs. This particular reference occupies a specific position within Breguet's contemporary lineup through its distinctive proportions and rose gold construction.
The watch houses an automatic movement within an 18k rose gold case measuring 42x35mm, indicating an oval or tonneau-shaped profile. The silver dial is protected by sapphire crystal, while the fixed bezel maintains clean lines around the case perimeter. Water resistance extends to 30 meters, positioning this as a dress watch rather than a sport-oriented timepiece.
The 5717 appeals to collectors seeking Breguet's interpretation of classical watchmaking within a non-circular case format. The rose gold construction and silver dial combination provides a traditional precious metal presentation, while the automatic movement offers practical daily wear functionality. This reference serves collectors interested in Breguet's contemporary Héritage line who prefer alternative case shapes to standard round configurations.
How do you like it? I like the watch, but unfortunately, it's too big on my wrist.
One of my favorite pieces. Just had a change to handle one at the Beverly Hills boutique a few months ago and loved it. Seriously underrated. The mini-desk thing is so cool lol
I love that desk box, but this piece has long been a grail. Wear it in best of health.
The diameter is quite reasonable, but it does have a bit of height/depth to it. I happen to also be wearing my Freak Cruiser (which I only got a few weeks ago as well), and the 7047 is much lighter. I didn't think I had particularly large wrists, but I guess I do since large watches don't seem to seem out of place on my wrist. I think my wrists are wide and flat even though the circumference is I think pretty average. Apologies for the bad photo. It's unsurprisingly difficult to take a timed sel
And the watch if ofcourse a piece of art
I had my eye on one from a dealer, but I snoozed. You snooze you lose. Too bad for me. 😡
