It’s interesting how the histories of “high end” brands like Breguet (and of course others) are rooted in watches which are made for practical, “pedestrian” (perhaps not the right word as warfare is anything but pedestrian) functions. That to me is an interesting facet of our hobby.

Sorry for the zombie thread response, but just wanted to throw out that I adore the early Type 20s (vs. the Type XXs, LOL) In any case, not sure if you thought about other producers for the same look and history. Airain, Vixa, Dodane, J. Auricoste, and espeically Mathey-Tissot (who actually made the Breguet Type 20s) can all be had at a fraction of the Breguet price (well the M-T is about 5x as expensive as the others but still about half a vintage Breguet) The type 20s have a really interesting
