Emmanuel, known as quattro on WatchProSite, continues his insightful series dedicated to the Venus 179 caliber. In this installment, he meticulously showcases two Breitling Duograph Ref. 762 models, providing a detailed visual comparison between an early 1943 example and a 1948 version featuring a unique patented pusher crown. His work highlights the historical significance and subtle evolutions of this iconic split-second chronograph.

I find these Duographs wonderful too. Best, Emmanuel
Thanks for stopping by. Best, Emmanuel
Breitling has gone to their past with the 1959 Navitimer and the AVI 765. Wouldn’t it be great if the reproduced that one? Wishful thinking I’m afraid.
Hope you'll find one of those someday! Best, Emmanuel
The Duograph is almost a synonym of Venus 179. If I could only have one Breitling, I'd choose Duograph over Navitimer. Other brands such as Record in 1940s also made split second chronographs using Venus 179, but no as prominently as Breitling.
Indeed, Record and also Tourneau made Venus 179 chronographs: I might add them to the series. credit: Mitka.co.uk (Record) & bgm197 (Tourneau)
