Bulgari unveils its renovated Takashimaya flagship in Singapore, featuring Venetian flooring, an onyx star, and a Giogali chandelier.

21st November 2012 – After three months of extensive renovations, Bulgari unveiled its new Takashimaya flagship this evening. 200 guests celebrated the official re-opening of the store with Group Worldwide Managing Director of Sales Mr. Umberto Macchi and Italian ambassador to Singapore, H. E. Anacleto Felicani and Mrs Maria Felicani.

With a concept that illustrates a long homogenous facade and strong contemporary design, the revitalised boutique boasts Venezianan flooring created using an ancient handmade technique known since ancient Greek and Roman periods. Sprawed across one floor of over an impressive 246 square metres, elements such as the onyx star - linked to the first Bulgari shop in Via Condotti - and an impressive figure eight shaped Giogali chandelier fuses both eternity and history, while embracing the clients in a mood of pleasurable luxury.

The latter was originally designed by a famous Italian architect in the sixties and was recently assembled into this new design by Bulgari architects. The final effect is a shining cascade of glass that recalls the richness of the brand and expounds on Bulgari’s intricate workmanship.

Bulgari’s artisinal commitment was made more apparent with its High Jewellery collection on display at the event. Top regional models, Angie Ng, Ana R, Mikki Yao and Sonya Park, were flown in to dazzle guests with a fashion showcase featuring highlights such as a stunning bib necklace in white gold with emerald and round brilliant cut diamonds totaling over 100 carats.

Master of Ceremonies, former beauty queen Deborah Henry, was no less stunning wearing a special edition Bulgari Bulgari white gold pendant with chain and pave diamonds that was released for sale in limited quantity of 88 pieces (SGD 11,200) to commerate the store’s re-opening.

Renowned chef and restaurateur, Bobby Chinn, designed a menu of delightful light bites that reflected his signature fusion-esque twist. From rice crackers topped with a tangy Thai inspired crab salad, grapes covered in creamy goat’s cheese and dusted with a pistachio nut crust as well as fried morsels of dark chocolate infused with a fiery kick, guests were privy to a spread of canapes that tantalised their tastebuds and were perfectly paired with single malt cocktails concocted by the Glenmorangie mixologists at the bar.
