SJX reports on Carole Forestier-Kasapi's groundbreaking achievement, winning the Best Watchmaker Prize at the Grand Prix d'Horlogerie de Genève 2012. This recognition is particularly significant as it marks the first time a watchmaker from a major brand, Cartier, has received this prestigious award, traditionally given to independents.
Carole Forestier-Kasapi has just won the Best Watchmaker Prize at the Grand Prix d'Horlogerie de Genève 2012. This is strong recognition for the superb work Carole has done, both in her current capacity as Head of Technical Development at Cartier as well as in her earlier career.

Especially notable is that is the first time the Best Watchmaker Prize has gone to a watchmaker at a major brand, rather than an independent. Past winners have included great watchmaking minds like Jean-François Mojon, Jean-Marc Wiederrecht, Vianney Halter and Anthony Randall.
Congrats Carole!

Congrats to Carole for this well-deserved prize! Fx
I definitely think she deserves the award.
Amongst the most well known as the Piaget Tourbillon Relatif, as well as the original concept for the UN Freak (which was then refined by Ludwig Oeschlin). - SJX
