In this insightful post, long-time collector sham1 shares his shift in focus from Patek Philippe to Cartier, a brand he champions as the 'King of watch design.' He presents four highly coveted Cartier models currently on his wishlist, sparking a lively discussion among fellow enthusiasts about the enduring appeal of Cartier's design heritage and the challenges of acquiring limited production pieces.

I would go for the Cintree, which I find the most elegant of the four. I like the concept of the guichet but the numbers are too small for my liking, not ideal with dwindling eyesight. The cloche does nothing for me when on or off the wrist. The Panthere is nice no doubt but it doesn't sing to me, I would be unlikely to wear it. The Cintree however is elegant, easy to read and does not try too hard, that would be my choice. Good luck with your dilemma and keep us posted!
And keeping fingers crossed. I find you have chosen four truly exquisite pieces. For me the Cartier I truly lust after and that i unfortunately missed when it could have been gotten more easily is the 2396C CPCP Monopussoir. Maybe one day 🤞🏻🤷🏻♂️
Glad to be in the same mindset as you mon ami.
Of the four on your short list, it would be the Cintree — classic charm.
and have and like this one
Quick question on the "cloche" if i may? Is it limited ans whats the retail price on that baby in your market? I hear around 31k eur?
