Centurionone's journey to acquire the Chopard Alpine Eagle 8Hz Art in Time special edition offers a compelling look into the world of limited-edition luxury watches. His account highlights the serendipitous nature of collecting, where persistence and a bit of luck can lead to acquiring a truly unique timepiece. This article delves into the allure of exclusive releases and the personal connections that often define high-end watch collecting.

Dear purists, you will remember that I asked for your valuable input about the Alpine Eagle 8Hz as I liked it a lot from the first time I saw it.
During those deliberations Clueless Collector mentioned about the green dial version created for Art in Time in Monte Carlo. Perhaps due to every watchmaker jumping on the “green bandwagon” I wasn’t smitten, apart from the fact that I had no hope in hell to be allocated a watch that was only made in 8 pieces.

Then I saw a few more photos of it and the green seemed much deeper and elegant and I thought it was indeed a beauty. I wrote to the director Yohann and expressed my interest. He kindly replied straight away to inform me that all pieces were spoken for.

Who knew that one client would decide against the purchase and I would receive another message from Yohann about one becoming available. I couldn’t believe my luck. He is an extremely nice professional who didn’t even ask for a deposit and simply took my word that I would go and buy it.

It took a couple of days or organising the covid tests,
flight etc and on Tuesday I flew to Monaco for the day to meet Yohann and purchase this beauty.

The boutique in Monte Carlo is charming in the way that the watches on sale are indeed rare, unique and utterly irresistible . It is a little treasure trove!

So here we are , instead of the grey version I now have now this and I haven’t taken it off my wrist since Tuesday 🥰

I wanted to share my extreme luck and this happy experience with you all .

Would love to see a wrist shot if you get a chance. That touch of orange is intriguing, but it all works! Wear it in the best of health. p.s. Yohann is great.

I just took one now for you , the green changes marvellously according to the light conditions. I agree that Yohann is a gentleman and he knows his watches well.

Glad the luck fell your way and another buyer backed out. Clearly you are the correct owner for this watch... enjoy it
