MTF previews Chopard's presence at the Cannes Film Festival 2015, highlighting the distinction between the brand's Red Carpet and Green Carpet collections. As an official partner since 1998, Chopard, under Caroline Scheufele, annually creates a Haute Joaillerie collection for the event, with 68 unique pieces for the 68th edition.

CHOPARD is ready for the Cannes Film Festival 2015
Lights, camera, action!

The recurring passion play between Chopard and film-making continues by the Mediterranean with a sparkling Haute Joaillerie collection. The Red Carpet collection of 68 one-of-a-kind creations instils scintillating glamour into the nightly 'mounting-the-steps ritual' at the Cannes Film Festival.

This report explains the distinction between Red and Green Carpet Collections from CHOPARD.

Official Partner of the Cannes Film Festival since 1998, Chopard actively contributes to the international renown of the event. Caroline Scheufele, Chopard Co-President and Artistic Director , has made CHOPARD an indispensable part of worldwide cinema’s major gathering. Each year, it pays tribute to the beauty of actresses by dedicating to them yet another extraordinary Haute Joaillerie collection, naturally named the Red Carpet.

RED CARPET COLLECTION

Each year, the red carpet covering the steps of the Palais des Festivals becomes the backdrop for breath taking Haute Joaillerie creations. These exceptional models are the result of an audacious challenge undertaken by Chopard because their total number corresponds to the edition of the event. In 2015, for the 68th edition of the Festival, no less than 68 one-of-a-kind pieces will eloquently showcase the talent and expertise of CHOPARD on La Croisette.

We'll return to the Red Carpet Collection later in the month but for now, here are some teasers....

GREEN CARPET COLLECTION

Previously, in a 'Prelude to the 2015 Cannes Film Festival for CHOPARD' , I mentioned the Green Carpet Collection of new jewellery watch, ring, earrings and long pendant to celebrate the 60th Anniversary of the Palme d'Or Award as a symbol of the festival.  CLICK the following URL Link :

This year, the Red Carpet collection is rolling out a new development, since it includes a Collection-within-Collection of Green Carpet jewellery – creations effectively matching ethics with aesthetics. Through “The Journey to Sustainable Luxury” project, Chopard is affirming its commitment and its determination to promote sustainable luxury, placing it at the heart of the brand values.

In keeping with the demands of the GCC® (Green Carpet Challenge) label, this collection is designed and produced according to the highest standards of sustainable development.

In 2015, in honour of the 60th anniversary of the Palme d’Or, Caroline Scheufele wished to pay tribute to this treasure from the plant kingdom that has become the ultimate symbol of the sheer genius of film-making.

Just like the Palme d’Or that inspired it, this Green Carpet collection is entirely made in the Chopard workshops from Fairmined gold.

"In 2014, I decided that the Palme d’Or, the most prestigious reward in the international film industry, should from now on be made in Fairmined gold. This year, to mark the 60th anniversary of the Palme d’Or, we have combined the emblem, our jewellery-making expertise and our commitment to sustainable luxury by creating a Green Carpet capsule collection inspired by the Palme”, says Caroline Scheufele .

Composed of a jewellery watch, a ring, earrings and a long pendant necklace , this collection features a design that encompasses the perfect harmony of the palm’s natural curves, and especially its finely veined folioles.

Crafted in 18-carat Fairmined gold, the Green Carpet  pieces are set with subtly graded marquise-cut diamonds sourced from the IGC group, a member of the Responsible Jewellery Council (RJC), a monitoring and supervisory body in the fields of ethical, social and ecological concerns.

A commendable collection, indeed.

Jed, The elegance is coupled with social responsibility. We will return to the Fairmined gold hallmark and process in the future but for the moment, we can admire the new watch....... as PuristS. Regards, MTF
