Holdemchamp1225's acquisition of the Chopard L.U.C 1860 Salmon Dial offers a rare glimpse into one of the most sought-after contemporary dress watches. His post not only showcases the watch's aesthetic appeal but also provides critical insights into its limited production numbers and market dynamics, directly from 'the source.' This article synthesizes community reactions and expert opinions, making holdemchamp1225's initial impressions a valuable resource for collectors considering this exceptional reference.

Beautiful day on the golf course ⛳️🏌‍♂️

This dial is STUNNING !!  Will take some photos with the XPS to show the subtle differences once I get the chance 😉

And for those who would like to know, there were LESS than 20 LUC 1860 salmon dials DELIVERED in all of 2023 worldwide !!  The projection is between 80 - 100 for 2024. This comes straight from "the source" 😉

As for those asking or worried about the 50 pieces for Revolution, those were actually MADE and supposed to be delivered BEFORE the salmon dial version but they decided to wait until the release of the salmon prior to releasing the Revolution version with untreated gold dial. So people waiting for their LUC 1860 salmon dial should not worry about Revolution's version cutting into the overall production 👍

IMHO this is a near perfect 3 hander for me. If I had a choice, I would tweak it slightly but that is nitpicking and personal preference. As-is, nothing comes close in terms of heritage, DNA, quality, execution, design, etc...around the same price point 🌍

About the Chopard L.U.C Ref. L.U.C1860

The L.U.C 1860 reference is a notable offering within the L.U.C collection, distinguished by its focus on classical watchmaking principles and refined aesthetics. This particular model, introduced at Watches and Wonders 2023, represents a continuation of Chopard's commitment to high horology, emphasizing traditional craftsmanship and a discreet presentation. It is recognized for its balanced proportions and the integration of a finely finished movement, reflecting the brand's in-house manufacturing capabilities.

This reference features a case crafted from Lucent Steel, a proprietary alloy, measuring 36.5 mm in diameter. The watch is powered by the L.U.C 96.01-L automatic movement, which is visible through a sapphire crystal case back. This movement is equipped with a micro-rotor and offers a power reserve of approximately 65 hours. The dial is presented in a salmon color, complemented by a sapphire crystal on the front.

Appealing to collectors who value understated design and mechanical integrity, the L.U.C 1860 fits into the brand's lineup as a dress watch with significant horological merit. Its limited production and specific material choices contribute to its appeal among enthusiasts seeking a watch that combines traditional watchmaking with contemporary material science. The model is a testament to Chopard's ongoing development in its L.U.C range.

I agree here, top 3 hander. I could do without automatic on the dial. WPS has maybe 3 so far out of maybe 30 delivered🤔 awesome.

What do you think of the lucent steel? Can you see a difference compared to 316l or 9orl (rolex)? Please compare!

And it gets better as I think the LUC Salmon dial looks better in person and natual light then in photos. I think its a great watch not only for its price point but for even double the price. BTW, if "the source" shared numbers, did they share the LUC XPS numbers as well?
