Mahesh's original post offers an exclusive first look at the Ferdinand Berthoud FB1RES4, a timepiece that pushes the boundaries of horological precision and customization. His detailed images and initial impressions provide a crucial foundation for understanding this limited-edition reference. This article delves into the community's insights, exploring the nuances of its unique complications and the brand's distinctive approach to chronometry.

Below is a Octogonal case in Ceramic coated Titanium with a sandblasted anthracite dial...

the case is 44mm and 14mm thick, absence of real lug makes it more wearable than the numbers look - having said that, it is still a BIG timepiece.

FB limits this reference by number of movement that will be made...i.e. in-total 38 movements will be made and that is it !

The customer has choice to customisable this model to his/her taste, meaning one can choose the case shape, material and colour of dial....but all fits within the 38 movements that will be made.

Good thing with both Chopard and Ferdinand Berthoud...all their timepieces are COSC certified and comes with complete certificate with timing during the test.

If I'm correct, probably the ONLY remontoire & Fuse-chain with a certification for accuracy...which is the target I suppose for such complication.

Best,
mahesh.,

the tactile pleasure of winding, by far the best I've seen in last 2-3 years.

...it has a steampunk kind of vibe combined with classic horology. I do wish they would make a smaller case, especially on the non-fusee and chain models (which I can see would need to be larger).
