KIH offers an exclusive look into the Chopard Ginza Boutique, highlighting its unique multi-floor setup that includes the head office, customer service, and a dedicated L.U.C salon. This post captures a special gathering of watch enthusiasts, from young collectors to seasoned veterans, emphasizing the community's shared passion for horology and the discovery of Chopard's 2018 novelties.

I have been doing "boutique crawl" wherever I visit for business (London, New York, where's next?), but Ginza boutique is also quite nice.  Chopard Japan is all in ONE building including head office, customer service (with watchmakers), boutique, salon.....  Of course there are many other "boutiques" around Japan, but this flagship boutique BUILDING is something to explore.  Will do the detailed report one day, but OUR main focus is the second floor (in Europe, it should be called the "First floor" or "Premier etage" or "Primo piano"...).

This floor is the treasure chest for us, purists, but it may require a bit of courage to reach the stair in the back of the store and go up.  That said, the staff are always welcoming, the ground floor is always full of couples who are interested in non-L.U.C watches, Chopard brand fashion, jewelry, and perhaps engagement rings or marriage rings..... (oh well, it has nothing to do with me, unfortunately...)

Chopard Japan kindly let us use the 2nd floor, L.U.C floor, for this small group.  The participants are from young (still in teens!) to old (like me), guys and a girl (!), who are all fans of watches.  The young fans are eager to learn about watches - very big hope for us to the next generation.  They each have watches that they can buy with what they have (well, even so, very incredible ones at their ages) and didn't talk about "money".  They all say they buy what they like!  That is a great start!  I just hope they do not turn to the "other" side of this hobby too soon.... smile

Anyway, here we go.

This is the L.U.C "salon", a great space where various events have been held, from talk event, Jose Carreras, etc....

Adjacent space is for "Racing in Style" and "Mille Miglia", etc.  Classic Racing Collection.

The latest, Grand Prix de Monaco Historique.

The group chat started....

Wow, how many were there?

Found new one!  Chopard kindly showed us the novelties.
Mille Miglia GTS Power Control Grigio Speciale

So light...

Touches of red is so elegant.  Much more legible than you may think.

Ah, the entry level new L.U.C without second hand and date.

Beautiful blue index and hands.  The cashmere strap is so comfortable.

Mille Miglia 2018 Race Edition - this is the last one at Ginza boutique!

Not too big.  Good size.

L.U.C Quattro.

Enjoying the talk and surrounding L.U.C....

Ah, Urushi....  Somehow, Urushi or Maki-E versions sell a lot more overseas than in Japan....  Must visit the Maestro one day.....

Elegant!

96 caliber is really something....  Can't get tired of looking.

So, I hope the new generation potential "purists" got hooked by Chopard watches while they experience the joy of such group chatting.

Brings back memories of my own visit to the Singapore Chopard boutique. Few years back I was on the verge of stopping this hobby altogether. Horofatigue mainly, plus a feeling of stagnantion. I had the good fortune of meeting one of the venerable collectors in this forum there. Thankfully, and he may not know it, but he changed my perspective and alas I'm still here now. It was a special moment for me, so Chopard always has a special place in my heart.

Great to see a young generation following. Definitely agree with you on the 96 movement, too - as well as the comfort of the cashmere strap on the steel LUC XP Surprised though that the Urushi pieces get more traction outside of Japan. Why is that?
