29 April 2008,7pm at Chopard Pavilion Kuala Lumpur
A small focus group of PuristS  and Guests of Chopard were invited to see (and try) the current collection of L.U.C and to learn more about the fascinating craftmanship and engineering behind from the L.U.C Master ...'Master Patrick Wehrli'.

At 5:45pm,we left our hotel for Pavilion.

A short relaxing 10-minute walk, we arrived.

A shot from the second floor to cover the majestic new Double-storey Chopard Boutique.

The Dynamic  Team -  Annie, Natasha, Abby and Juliani

About 7pm, some of the guests arrived. A few were trying out accessories while the rest were enjoying the wine and having conversation.

At 8pm sharp, we ushered all the guests to the second storey....

It is really high up.... are we there yet?
No....another flight.....

Wow....we saw the showcases ...we've arrived!
Everyone was up and were served drinks again to calm down the nerves smile

The session began....

Chopard fans including PuristS

What are they "watching"?

Patrick Wehrli of Chopard

Patrick is a trained watchmaker as well as a sales staff trainer. Watchmaking is literally in this man's DNA as his father is the well known and published Martin Wehrli of Audemars Piguet.

Malaysian glitterati and media personalities

After Master Patrick has finished his short presentation, we adjourned for dinner.

DINNER

Kampachi Japanese Restaurant on 6F at Pavilion

Kampachi Japanese at Equatorial Hotel is rated as one of the best Japanese restaurants in KL...the second outlet should be of similar calibre.

Did you spot it?

Chopard attention to detail is legendary

Indeed!!  A few of us, did not use the Chopard chopstick....we kept as omiyage.

Sushi selection

Sashimi selection

Crispy fish skin salad

Prawn tempura and Yaki-tori

There was char-han (fried rice) and peanut mochi dessert too but they were eaten before a photo could be taken.

The PuristS were seated on the left table...so much expression when came to the watch topic.

What smart words did Master Patrick say?  Seemed to have charmed Abby...

A pic of the beautiful people of Chopard.

AFTER DINNER SESSION

Now for the serious stuff... for serious people PuristS.

Time is 10:45pm and we returned to the boutique.

What were we thinking?

A Jedi Padawan was asking the Master to explain a certain movement detail, while another Jedi Knight watching.

This tray... a friend of the PuristS has removed his Patek and trying on the L.U.C Tourbillon(with diamond bezel) and LunarOneS (not shown on the pictures).

A closer look of the baguette-set Steel Wings Tourbillon.

Novelties 2008

A couple of Novelties 2008, starting with ...

L.U.C Tourbillon with WAS (Winding Assistance System)

The crank is the WAS.  It is made of 18K Gold.
This newly developed crank will automatically gripped firmly onto the crown when pushed-in.   Now the owner can leisurely turn the crank-handle and enjoy seeing power being put into the Four-Barrels which will have 216 hours or 9-day power-reserve (which was indicated by the Power Reserve Indicator).
When fully wound, just hold and gently slide the crank-body outward, the grip will unlock and the crank can easily remove.

A new dial design of the L.U.C Tech Twist.

We stayed till about midnight to capture some real and wrist-shots for all L.U.C fans.

More pictures of the novelties from K T soon.

Chopard gift:  Blue Leather Business Card-holder

Forgot to pick up our goodie bags after dinner so Ling had to take a photo for us smile

We would like to thank Mr.ShahJahan and his team, and Mr.Patrick Wehrli for this great event and staying back so late with us, so we could have some real-piece-pictures for the PuristS.

Is that Kong's hairy hand? Next time, please ask him to shave first before you take some wrist shots. Regards Ling

. . . auto museum in '72: a yellow 1910 Mercer roadster had just been restored, and I saw the mechanics cranking it up for the first time in decades. At the time, I would have been pleased as punch to drive that car just once; today, I think I'd get a bigger thrill out of winding this Chopard tourbillon with it's immense power reserve . . . cordially, Art

I would like to express my words of sincere gratitude to both Shah and Patrick for hosting such a wonderful event. I believe all of us had a great time viewing some spectacular timepieces and enjoying the good food served in Kampachi, and not nto mention, the detailed "Chopard" Chopstick! Also, it was great to see both MTF and Kong for making this trip to KL and sharing the occasion with us. Once again, thanks Chopard for the being such a great host!
