KMII shares a detailed account of his recent Chopard service experiences, offering a real-world perspective on the brand's after-sales care. This post is particularly valuable for collectors considering Chopard, as it highlights the efficiency and quality of their service, alongside personal customization with a new strap for his L.U.C Sport.

As I have recently repeatedly stated, we turned into a Chopard free household, while both the MM2014 and the LUC Chrono One were in the spa. The former stopped working properly (i.e. the second hand would simply stop), while the latter appeared to have developed a power reserve issue. The LUC Sport entered the fray to keep the brand's spirits up but while I was very happy with the watch, the rubber strap was never going to be a keeper for me. Last week finally the good news arrived and today I went to pick up everything biggrin The weather is rather bad and the lighting did not allow for anything great but a couple of quick family snapshots to accompany my service experience report.

I will start with the newest in the stable - the LUC Sport. As the strap was of a rather unusual (for current production Chopards) 20/16 dimension, the choices were a tad more limited and what I initially wanted - a dark brown barenia leather strap - was not available. With the help of the very able staff, I finally settled on the blue one, as seen below. And great it turned out to be! I am also impressed with the speed - 2 weeks for a custom strap is excellent! It is part of their 'express' service offering, which costs a bit extra but then I did not want to wait for months, as the watch is just begging to be used. In my eyes it is a definite success and the watch is simply transformed.

Not sure what your opinions are but I find it much more broadly usable now, and the blue just works so well with the dial. Now if only the sun was to come out to play for some better pictures... wink

The MM2014 was next. This took a bit longer, because of an unrelated 'complication' in the process, which I am not at liberty to discuss, but where I can simply say that Chopard handled the matter impeccably. A full service was performed in addition to setting the hands - apparently the seconds hand was misaligned and got the minutes hand to stop or something along those lines (at the point I was simply over the moon with all three, so not listening that attentively) smile

Last but by no means least - the LUC Chrono One. The whole process, from me bringing it in, to it returning to the boutique took 25 days, which I find exemplary, given that the watch went back to Switzerland. As it returned from the spa last time 8 months before, the service was free of charge (in fact they also did a complimentary service on the MM), the issue was explained and I can only complement Chopard and the boutique staff for the treatment of the issue throughout.

As is often stated - you do not get the watch initially because of the service experience but it certainly massively influences the likelihood of staying with the brand long term, and adding to the collection. As the three here demonstrate smile Glad to be able to report positive service news as well - and I guess most brands do get it right most of the time. In any case, if you go down the Chopard route, you can generally rest assured that there is peace of mind for a long time as part of the package. smile

It is a start, even if one has already been claimed by my wife

A great choice of style and colour. It is definitely something unusual and very desirable. Glad they are now together with you!

In hindsight it was an excellent choice - really works like a charm. Do think that the Chrono One will get first dibs in terms of getting worn, though, having been away for about a month

let your wife have whatever watch she wants and claims. You'll be "better off" in the long run ) Rgds Raymond

Have learned the lesson first time around. Otherwise I\'d still be stuck with the one Thanks for the heads up, though Brothers in watch, eh?

She is quite restrained when it comes to those - more often than not it is me being insistent. Very happy with the balance overall - even if she wears my watches and I don\'t wear her handbags
