Even though it is not my birthday today, let's think of and celebrate the Swiss National day instead. I call this constructed picture the "Maximum 919".
Dear PuristS,
I was forced to be more reading than posting over here during the last weeks, because of a broken elbow that delayed this post. But now, I'm getting back as the bone continues to heal.
Instead of a 1'000th anniversary post, I'm going to celebrate my community membership in strong relation with my very personalized watch.
What else could it be but Chopard's Superfast Chrono Porsche 919 Edition, which I first introduced to you here:
I'm still a huge fan and the following picture essay can hopefully establish some understanding why this is an exceptional piece to me.
Firstly
As we shouldn't be blinded, and also my slowly growing experience in the world of watches shall allow some constructive criticism. I think it is natural after the watch spent many hours on my wrist, in my hands and under the loupe. It's in the nature of my zodiacal sign to search until I find certain elements that could be improved or considered slight imperfections. Do you see them, too?
1 -- Applied markers not always perfectly aligned
2-- I might be confused by the number print and registers that do not always appear to be consisted. Why is the 0: a) under the black marker; b) touching the black marker; c) next to the black marker?
3-- If you look long enough, maybe there is some different gap between the strap-to-lug-surface
Please don't get me wrong at all, yet as little as I wanted a perfect wife, I do love each of these pictured aspects. Nobody will hardly notice without a loupe and without spending lots of time trying to find something.
Moreover for the above findings that are related to the dial construction, I have to say that I admire Chopard for taking the challenge of a rather complex dial assembly. With a little bit of engineering background, you could easily say that the majority of dials out there is much simpler in terms of manufacturing tolerances of so many different components (structured dial <-> inserted hour markers <-> aligned minute ring).
Secondly
As I was told when I was a boy, that you should always maintain your fantasy, here it is:
If I could, I would be dreaming of a dial that has:
/the sub-dial logo and description below the center pins, so that in the zero position you can fully see them.
/the 'Minutes' placed on the right side, which would be forming a circle from 'Hours' to 'Minutes' and 'Chronometer'
What do you think?

Very nice post! As for your improvement suggestions, I agree, would be better to have all texts on the lower part of the sub-dials. As for the minor issues... The only one that would bug me are the not aligned applied indexes. The printing is natural since 10, 20 and 40 are different wide and they should be centred over the respective line. And the strap... My guess is that it has to do with the rubber more than the watch. Best Blomman

It is very natural that the Porsche 919 will disapper and with it the Superfast 919. Superfast was there before and it will be there afterwards but the dial and caseback are special to me. Either you go and try it on, or I'll show you when we meet. Best regards, Kolosstt

Appreciate your opinion and feedback. Interesting idea about the strap. Maybe it's time to get a leather strap and verify? As far as it concerns my elbow, today, I'm attempting to go back on the evil's machine that broke it. Will work, hopefully. Kind regards Kolosstt
