KIH's post beautifully captures a festive holiday event hosted by Chopard Japan, offering a glimpse into the brand's engagement with its community through cultural experiences. His detailed account, from the Urushi plates to the musical performance, highlights the luxurious atmosphere and the watches on display. This article explores the blend of artistry and horology at Chopard's Ginza boutique.

It's a bit early, but the streets are lit with holiday light-ups and trees are dressed.....  And Chopard Tokyo Boutique had a small holiday concert inviting young promising violinist and cellist and gave us a nice holiday spirit - just a few weeks to go!

Before the concert, I was served iced tea on a unique plate - immediately noticed that it was Urushi plate with gold lettering of "Chopard" - Only those who know and understand the value and occasion of those urushi/ maki-e should be used.  Very nice touch, Chopard!

On the back is the logo of the urushi ware brand.

And, also Chopard desert!

This is the "Salon" on the 3rd floor of Chopard Ginza boutique.

Now the young artists arrive and on the right is the Boutique Manager, Ms. Nonaka who introduces these young artists.  They played from Ave Maria to Canon to etc...  Very nice feeling indeed.

Now the watches.  Look what I found there!

Really drool-worthy piece, as you all may know.  I really have to think hard..... smile

First time to handle - the feel of the pusher is one of the most comfortable smoothness.  Very, very attractive.

Ah, and THE one, which Brendon was wearing, too......

The back side is, well, I wish it were more transparent, but there is only one small window to show the speed of the balance wheel.

A part of the rotor can be seen, too.

Titanium buckle.

Very nice black and red touch.

Center is titanium, and bezel and bottom are ceramic, I believe.

This combination could look good, too smile

Soon it will be time to pick my own holiday present (yeah, no one to give to and no one who gives me!) again.  Stay tuned...

Best,
Ken

Thank you, Chopard Ginza Boutique!

Ken Good luck with your choice of bonen-kai gift. I'm biased but we targeted some of the best manual wind fly-back chronographs in the world when designing the feel of the pushers of the L.U.C 1963 Chrono PuristS Edition. To help your decision, here is the movement of the L.U.C Hi-Frequency 8Hz Chronometer with silicon escapement gear..... Regards, MTF

But, hey, it is a great piece and there are only a few in the world available, I gather. I wish some wealthy (young) woman would buy me either one..... then I buy another one... both for me )))

I'll keep you posted on that. But the watch is just so enjoyable to wear. I also wish it had a full exhibition back, but the little window fits the overall madness of the design. I so badly wanted the PuristS Chronograph to be my first Chopard, but I just do not care for the dial.

I would also gladly accept either one of the two options

And they are both simply spectacular! Still have a slight preference for the 8HF, after trying it on in Singapore even more so. It fits very well even on my smaller wrist and wears much smaller than the LUC Chrono One. The light weight helps, too.
