Ron (Moka-Tiger) shares a follow-up to his initial post, presenting his Chopard Alpine Eagle without its protective plastic. This thread delves into the practicalities of luxury watch ownership, particularly concerning scratch resistance and the aesthetic appeal of polished surfaces on integrated bracelet sports watches. Ron's post sparks a discussion on the durability of Chopard's Lucent Steel A223 and other materials.

I can only imagine the thrill of receiving this watch and immediately snapping some photos, even with the plastic. But yes, preference without for me!! Congratulations again, you have real Community piece here!
We knew you'd be losing the plastic soon!
I have some OCD about polished center links which makes a watch like this or gmt on oyster difficult 🤣 love this AE. Really one of the best sports watches period.
At least the Rolex GMT's polished center links aren't raised. But this one and on the Nautilus, they're raised, making them even more likely to get scratches. Fortunately, the Chopard metal A223 steel, is slightly harder and thus will resist scratching slightly more.
This material would be more for me. I am also curious how the grade 5 Ti in the cadence model holds up.
But I have no idea if POLISHED TITANIUM looks good with light scratches... Thankfully my polished titanium watches don't have any major scratches!
