It's been a while since Christie's did preview in Japan for its watch auction.  The auction itself is to be held on May 29 in Hong Kong and some of the pieces were displayed at Ferrari dealer (Cornes) in Tokyo (gong to Osaka tomorrow).  The display included jewelry as well and it appeared that the Ferrari clientele (who Ferrari shop staff fully attended) were showing interest in those jewelries.  The collaboration seemed to be working.  For watches, some of the Ferrari owners or clientele were showing interest, too.  Watch nuts were not so paid attention, though.  But many thanks to Cornes, we could see, touch, and handle (and even hear) some of the masterpieces.  The e-Catalog is not ready yet, so let me show you some of the pieces for the May 29 Auction:

(Note: showing photos here including some of the serial numbers are permitted by Christie's)

Showroom on the ground floor with many, I mean, many serious business going on (they sell 6 per week on average! - where is the economic slump???).  When I came back to Tokyo, I noticed that I see a few Ferrari of Lamborghini everyday - much more often than in New York......  I don't know if it's good or bad.....

On the second floor.

About the Richard Mille Dual Time Tourbillon Ref. RM003

Richard Mille RM003 Dual Time Tourbillon

The RM003 represents Richard Mille's early dual time complication paired with a tourbillon escapement. Produced from 2003 to 2010, this reference combines travel watch functionality with the brand's signature skeletonized aesthetic. The model designation places it among the foundational references in Richard Mille's numbered series.

The 42mm titanium case houses the manual-winding RM003 caliber with 70-hour power reserve. The skeletonized dial construction reveals the movement architecture beneath a sapphire crystal. Water resistance extends to 50 meters, with the watch completed by a rubber strap and fixed bezel configuration.

This reference appeals to collectors seeking Richard Mille's early production period with dual timezone capability. The seven-year production span from 2003-2010 positions it as a relatively early reference within the brand's catalog. The combination of tourbillon and GMT function targets collectors focused on complicated timepieces with contemporary case materials.

The strap and buckle wasn't genuine and it just couldn't be through the buckle easily - yes, for CITES reason. all the straps had been replaced with cheapy calf and buckles are cheap generic as well..... But, the point is it wasn't so bad on my wrist Estimate was just about the list price, or? Perhaps about the same as three Ferraris, heh. Ken
