KIH's report from BaselWorld 2015 highlights Citizen's focus on material science and technological advancements, particularly their 'Super Titanium' and proprietary surface processing. The article offers an in-depth look at Citizen's innovative approach to watchmaking, showcasing new models like the Satellite Wave F900 and its impressive features.

The theme of CITIZEN this year is about the material and surface processing as well as technological advancement.  Surface processing is not the brightest star in the watchmaking, but this is amazing.

Anyway, here is what CITIZEN showed at this Basel.

The big booth.

Now world-famous decoration with thousands of base plates.

On one side is last year's Satellite Wave F100

Another side is this year's novelty Satellite Wave F900

Inside is the main theme "Super Titanium"....

The rock which contains titanium.

CITIZEN does those processing in-house.  They can make various color titanium by its proprietary surface processing.

F900 white

F900 black

Now with chronograph and GMT.

What is so great about this new model - the torque!
See the speed of the hands going back or going forward to adjust to the correct time at the location.

And another new function - the meter which shows how much light it is getting...  Sometimes you would feel it convenient.

Black model case, bracelet has "Super Titanium" Duratect DLC + MRK=result, Vickers scale 1000-1400

White model "Super Titanium" with Duratect alpha + MRK - result, Vicers scale 2200-2500.

Okay, let's see how the surface of vickers scale 2200-2500 would work.

Really cool looking, evolved CITIZEN Satellite Wave!

And date placement is not for me.

I wonder why Citizen does not show off their mechanical watch offerings? They have some wonderful pieces that the rest of the world should know of.
