After some chatting with our fellow member and moderator Patrick last year I decided to purchase a nixie clock from Dalibor Farny.  Several members, Patrick included, own these clocks and the feedback has been all positive.

The clock was delivered in December last year but believe it or not I did not open the box until this week.  Thankfully all was intact and operation, it might have been odd to go back to Dalibor and explain I had an issue but only realized it 8 months after he delivered the clock to me !  Fortunately the packaging is very robust and so all arrived in perfect working order.

I chose the Puri Nixie Clock 4 (4 being the number of tubes).  The 4 shows hours and minutes, and I have set it up to show day and month intermittently.  The 6, which would have 6 tubes, would show seconds and therefore be more dynamic.  In hindsight perhaps the 6 would have been the one to go for.

Here are a few photos of the clock in place.  Not sure if this is its permanent home as I want to find a way of not seeing the power cord (which can’t be seen in the pictures but is there).

Thanks to Patrick for the assist on this one.  I will let him add further colour to this post in terms of the product and company (or Dalibor himself), you can also search some prior posts here with good information about these clocks.

I think the 6, with the seconds display, would be more dynamic and maybe because of that be more obvious in whatever room it was placed. This one, in addition to being slim as you noted, lacks that dynamic aspect and so it blends in nicely.

But haven't been able to choose which one, so you're helping me a lot! They seem to me so pure in its design, and soothing. Best regards. René

A very nice clock on a very nice rift oak wall shelf! I see you've hidden the cabling behind the shelf. I do like the six tube version. But it does take up significantly more space. The base is exponentially larger since it has to preserve the proportions. All this, while the tubes are the same size. Thus, the six is more than 50% larger. I have both the six tube and the four tube variants at my home. 4 Tube variants are best in a calm space. I wouldn't put a 6 tube variant in a bedroom for inst

But got a Nixie instead.

I would probably not put that one in a bedroom, as there's a lot of life and movement there. And the app allows the clock to shut off when you go to sleep, so you can program it to turn off after 10PM and turn back on at around 6AM. This way it won't disturb your sleep.
