Thanks to a dear friend I was given the opportunity to see a number of Ferdinand Berthoud models. I ostensibly went to see the newly released FB 3.
When I met with Ken from Chopard we went over all the models and while he spoke glowingly of the FB3 I was entranced by this one, the FB2RE. As we sat in our meeting scheduled for an hour that turned into 2 hours I listened to the comprehensive description of each watch, particularly the FB3 but I kept putting it down and picking up the FB2, trying it on and louping it.
Finally my wife told me to face the fact that I was overwhelmed by the FB2RE and if I was going to get a Ferdinand Berthoud it had to the FB2.
What could I say but surrender to her advice.

Everything about this watch is amazing.
The enamel dial with multiple components, curving into the bezel is a work of art and certainly very hard to accomplish.
The movement is beautiful with a fusee chain and remontoire is totally outstanding. Watching the escapement do its thing is a joy.

My wife was right.

I love how this brand has been cultivated to top chronometry and finishing. KFS has done a good job here. I have never seen one but definitely think I would like if the size was agreeable. Thanks for sharing.

He inspects and has to approve of every FB before it can be delivered. Lot of respect for this brand.

to handle one. It was very convincing if there wasn’t the huge price tag. It might sound strange but it seemed to be the best possible crossbreeding of a Panerai Luminor Marina there could be.😄

Congratulations to you. That is a top level timepiece. Nothing better. Maybe some different, or some as good, but none better. Did I say Congratulations? Very happy for you!!
