Jay (Eire)'s F.P. Journe collection, featuring a quartet of significant references, offers a masterclass in curating a highly personal and deeply considered selection from a revered independent watchmaker. His post invites the community to engage in a thought experiment: what would they add or remove from this impressive 'gang' of Journes, and what sacrifices would they make? This discussion illuminates the nuanced decision-making involved in high-end watch collecting.

I don’t believe I’ve ever had these together in one place before, let alone taken a picture.

In any event, hopefully brightening up Friday and the weekend for everyone with a gaggle of Journe.

I’d be curious to what people think about this particular spread, as a collection what might be missing?  And to make you all think a little, in order to add something another must go.  So don’t just say “obviously you are missing a Tourbillion”, please suggest what should be sacrificed.

(And let’s ignore values, just one in, one out. The money if needed will be found on some trees!).

Tourbillon will be an obvious choice to add to your collection, but a Black label would differentiate it ? (may be a T10 or T30 also) or swap the Vagabondage 2 to a Vagabondage 1 you shd keep CB & Resonance IMHO but then i'll let go Centigraph...but that is my personal take - if you love Chronographs, then i understand it is going to be hard ! Best, mahesh.,

Especially not if you had to let something go. You have chosen each piece after careful consideration, from what I understand from previous posts. I think the most important in collecting, is to find your own crop on the brand. These are all great pieces from the FPJ back catalogue. If you are getting tired of one these, that’s an other matter. So if you are looking for inspiration for something else, I would look at the Optimum. Way, way before a Tourbillon. What is your least favorite piece of
