I was in London last week and was lucky enough to land an invite to the new FP Journe x Holland and Holland release at their boutique in Mayfair.

All the details on the watch can be found HERE in the post by Anthony, but I thought I would add some live pictures from the evening (sorry about quality as only had my cell phone):

The right way to get a launch party started...

and of course what Holland and Holland are famous for...

Also pleased to see something special for me... smile

Now... what are we here for... this beauty!

Unfortunately it was so busy that I didn't get to handle the watch, but this was my first glimpse of it (it was revolving in the stand)

and finally on the wrist of the CEO of Holland and Holland...

My personal opinion is that I think it is a very strong piece! My love is for the warm brown damascus steel dial against the cold steel case, making each piece truly unique.  Its a great partnership between 2 prestigious makers of beautiful things... but it does not cry out shotgun or Holland and Holland which I think is a good thing... it is just beautiful in its own right and a great story to tell people when they ask you about the texture of the dial.   There are only 66 pieces and I have no doubt that it will sell quickly due to the following of both brands... if it had an orange hand, I would have one!

Cheers
Andrew

It doesn't come with an orange hand, but it comes with a pair of orange gloves...

Do they count? BR

Thanks for the report.

To my (untrained) eye the look of this model is oddly reminiscent of the recent Ming 17.01 watch release

I think it is the Ming that is reminiscent of the Journe watches. Cf. the Chronometre Bleu. [nt]

Oh of course.

I was merely commenting on this the similarity of design particularly with the FPJ without a seconds subdial
