Sandro Range's acquisition of the F.P. Journe Chronomètre à Résonance in platinum with a salmon dial sparked considerable excitement within the WatchProSite community. This article delves into the aesthetic and horological significance of this specific configuration, as celebrated by Range and fellow collectors. It highlights why this modern iteration of a classic F.P. Journe reference continues to captivate enthusiasts.

The Chronomètre à Résonance represents F.P. Journe's entry in the Souveraine collection, distinguished by its resonance complication. This reference utilizes the principle of resonance between two independent escapements to enhance chronometric precision.
The 40mm case is crafted in 18k rose gold with a fixed bezel and sapphire crystal. The silver dial houses the manual-winding caliber 1499 movement, offering a 42-hour power reserve. Water resistance is rated to 30 meters, and the watch is completed with a leather strap.
This reference appeals to collectors focused on haute horlogerie complications and independent watchmaking. The resonance mechanism positions this piece as a technical showcase within F.P. Journe's manual-winding offerings. Production began in 2000, establishing this as part of the brand's contemporary catalog for collectors seeking advanced chronometric functions.
I think I much prefer this dial on the PT case and the RG case with the other dial.
I love this combination as others have said. The second picture also shows the wonderful proportions of this watch. It’s a master piece.
I have a lune on order in that same combo.
Enjoy in best of health
Beautiful watch and congratulations. My favorite version as well. I have this configuration on order and it’s not coming in 23 as I have something else on order. Is it a 40 or 42? It’s a modern version of classic early Journe feel with the warm , bright gold dial. Use it well.
Thanks for sharing this one by showing the lovely pics. You are lucky to have landed this one on your wrist. Wear it in good health.
