GreatPilot@me.com shares an exclusive look into the F.P. Journe event in Beverly Hills, celebrating the acquisition of his new platinum 42mm Chronomètre à Résonance. His post captures the unique atmosphere of meeting François-Paul Journe himself and connecting with fellow collectors. This article delves into the community's initial reactions and insights on this highly anticipated timepiece.

The Chronomètre à Résonance represents F.P. Journe's entry in the Souveraine collection, distinguished by its resonance complication. This reference utilizes the principle of resonance between two independent escapements to enhance chronometric precision.
The 40mm case is crafted in 18k rose gold with a fixed bezel and sapphire crystal. The silver dial houses the manual-winding caliber 1499 movement, offering a 42-hour power reserve. Water resistance is rated to 30 meters, and the watch is completed with a leather strap.
This reference appeals to collectors focused on haute horlogerie complications and independent watchmaking. The resonance mechanism positions this piece as a technical showcase within F.P. Journe's manual-winding offerings. Production began in 2000, establishing this as part of the brand's contemporary catalog for collectors seeking advanced chronometric functions.
Incredibly watch, and the event looked a real good time! Out of curiosity were you able to try on the 40mm Resonance? Was there any particular reason you went for the 42mm? I hope one day I may be able to place an order, just not sure which size I would prefer more! Rahul
That is one for the books and something extraordinarily special beginning to end. A grail watch for anybody and one that looks great in your wrist. Thank you for sharing the experience and with the man himself ! Ben
It was a GTG with watch people from all walks of life versus some of the other dealers that are selling and having hot chicks run around with drinks (nothing wrong with hot chicks), that is insulting to my wife and she always wants to leave early, this time she had fun albeit they didn’t have much to sell…Jim
No I did not try on the 40mmm but I have a Bleu and it is a little small for me so I went with the 42mm, my wrists are 17cm so you can Jude for yourself in the pictures. Personally I like a little bigger watch and 42mm hit that target for me (I am happy) but most anyone would be fine with the 40mm. I have no idea how orders for the two different sizes panned out, it would be interesting to know…Jim
The event was special. Such nice people, young and not so young . The people at FP Journe are a class act…Jim
Looks like it was a fun event. Enjoy your new watch in the best of health.
