Kong's report details the Singapore launch of the F.P. Journe Vagabondage III, the final installment in the acclaimed trilogy. His post provides an intimate look at the event and offers crucial technical insights, particularly regarding the watch's unique digital jumping hour and seconds display and its power reserve characteristics.

The F.P. Journe Vagabondage I represents the inaugural reference in the Vagabondage series, introduced in 2004. This reference establishes the foundation for F.P. Journe's exploration of unconventional time display concepts within a compact case format.
The 36.5mm platinum case houses the manual-winding caliber 1509 movement, delivering 40 hours of power reserve. The silver dial is protected by sapphire crystal, while a fixed bezel maintains clean lines. Water resistance extends to 30 meters, and the watch is completed with a leather strap.
This reference appeals to collectors seeking F.P. Journe's approach to alternative time displays in a more intimate case size. The platinum construction and manual movement align with the brand's commitment to traditional materials and hand-winding mechanisms. As the first Vagabondage reference, it occupies a specific position for collectors interested in F.P. Journe's horological concepts beyond conventional displays.
Prefer the platinum as well. Superb watch.
With my ALS Zeitwerk, I already know how is significant the required power for that kind of complication (only 36 hours of power reserve instead of 72 hours for the main regular models Lange). But here, a jumping second, I\'m truly impressed. Regarding the design of this new Vagabondage III, I think I still prefer the Vagabondage II as its dial is more discreet for me. Thank you for your report Kong Best wishes Alkiro
But they all remain very cool.
Hopefully he keeps producing it, but in a more traditional (round) case.
Kong, Thanks for the report. I remember the Vagabondage One although in those days, it was just called the Vagabondage; having no knowledge of II and III. It was one of the FPJ models that I did not get as I was distracted by the Octa Zodiaque and the Octa Chronograph, getting those instead. I see Mike Tay is now Group Managing Director of The Hour Glass instead of his uncle. How time flies...as all the usual suspects were at the Singapore watch launch looking a little wiser.... Regards, MTF
