AndrewD introduces the Frederique Constant Amour Pavée Heart Beat Ladies Automatic, highlighting its feminine design and mechanical movement. He draws attention to its diamond-set dial and bezel, and the signature heart-shaped aperture, inviting the community's thoughts on this distinctive ladies' timepiece.
Again following the ‘love theme’ a press release for the Frederique Constant Amour Pavée Heart Beat Ladies Automatic came across my desk and I thought it was worth drawing your attention to it. Our focus is often on masculine watches (which can look great on our better halves), but sometimes a truly feminine watch is called for and I think these particular Frederique Constant watches are rather attractive.
The watch is available in either stainless steel or rose gold plate in a limited run of 888 pieces in each metal. The case diameter is 34mm. The dial is set with 90 full-cut diamonds (0.5 carats) with VS clarity and H colour. There are an additional 48 diamonds on the bezel (0.74 carats).
A MOP outer ring surrounds the center diamond pavé and “Armour” is written across the dial in diamonds; nice touch. There are sapphire crystals front and rear and the crown is topped with a red cabochon (the RG version) or blue cabochon (steel version). The straps are either vanilla satin (RG version) or grey satin (steel version) on a folding buckle.
A heart-shaped aperture at 1200 o’clock provides a glimpse into the FC-310 automatic calibre with 38h PR. It’s nice (actually imperative for me) to have a mechanical movement inside a ladies watch.
What do you think of these?
Andrew
Ps. Filip’s image [click here] also encouraged me to post this, so this one’s for you … and Mrs Bimbeano!

Nice watches but I'm totally tired with these open heart... Fx
... but I don't mind this. The steel case makes these watches accessible and it's much more desirable to me than a quartz 'movement' even in the likes of a Patek case. And the 'beating heart inside' has always been a romantic notion for me with any mechanical watch. For these reasons I think there is a market for these watches. Andrew
FX has a point in those heartbeat designs being a bit too much after a while, but the FC's are affordable mechanical watches. Having a FC in ones collection shouldn't be a punishment IMO :-) . Those are nice pictures .... hmmmm .... where do you think they found their inspiration :-) ? Bim
