George Daniels Vintage Watch Overview

Last night I had the immense pleasure of handling a historically most important timepiece. Years ago when Mr Daniels started his venture into horology and concentrated his efforts on pocket watches he had one particular client who requested a wristwatch made on commission. Mr Daniels willfully declined. This particular client kept coming back with his request. Fast forward and 12 years later Mr Daniels had become a friend of this client and agreed to make a wristwatch. And this marvel was born. And what a first. DNA is apparent on this complicated piece, tourbillon and calendar function visible on the back which can be made visible to wearer without unstrapping the watch through a hinge mechanism. This piece has been with its original owner for decades and not been publicly shown until now as it is being prepared for the November sale at Phillips in Geneva. It was a special moment to have the opportunity to handle this beauty and needless to say it was not easy to voluntarily take it off the wrist... a masterpiece in my humble opinion.
