Friends,
One watch we didn’t discuss much this year is the Girard-Perregaux 1966 Dual Time, a Novelty of this year.
The size of 40 mm and with the red dual time hour hand the watch has a very different look than what we are used to see in the 1966 line.
Good or bad? It is of course dependant of your preference.
Me, I think it gives the watch a very young and fresh look!
What do you think?

The Girard Perregaux 1966 Dual Time, reference 1966DualTime, is a notable offering within the brand's 1966 collection, distinguished by its practical dual time zone complication. This model integrates a second time zone display with a day/night indicator, alongside a date function, making it suitable for travelers and those managing multiple time zones. It maintains the classic and understated aesthetic characteristic of the 1966 line, focusing on legibility and functional elegance.
This reference features an 18k rose gold case measuring 40mm in diameter, housing the automatic caliber GP03300-0094. The movement provides a power reserve of 46 hours. A sapphire crystal protects the silver dial, ensuring durability and clarity. The watch is water resistant to 30 meters, suitable for everyday wear but not for immersion. The fixed bezel and leather strap complete the traditional presentation.
For collectors, the 1966 Dual Time appeals to those seeking a refined and functional travel watch from a respected manufacture. Its design adheres to classical watchmaking principles, emphasizing proportions and finish. The dual time complication is integrated discreetly, maintaining the clean lines of the 1966 series. This reference represents a blend of traditional aesthetics with a useful contemporary complication.
Well, the main drawback of this GP is that figures are too gathered close to the center of the dial (may be it can be explained by the size of the GP movement?). If they would have been closer to the bezel, it would have been a more balanced and "breathing" dial IMHO. At the opposite, I always love the fact that GP continues to use this "little touch of red". It would be lovely at 36 or 37mm... Best E.

Just design. The sub-dial with the date on the other hand.... That is a nother story.....! Best Blomman
