Friends,

coming towards the end of the week and before we finish it off tomorrow, let’s go back to the so-called dark ages of Swiss watchmaking.

The 1980s!

The second generation of Laureato’s still came with a Quartz movement and it is fair to say that this generation is probably the least appreciated.

However, there are still some interesting aspects to discover, like with the Laureato Perpetual Calendar from the 1980s.

Yes, the style is very 80s, but mechanically it is quite an interesting watch.

You actually have a Quartz movement with an added, fully mechanical perpetual calendar module on top.

And as still used today, the month is a large rotating disc, also showing the Zodiacs. Also comes with a moonphase display.

Best,

CC
