Sham1 seeks community input on his shortlist of three distinct luxury watches for retirement, focusing on wrist fit rather than movement details, which are already well-known. His post highlights the Grönefeld Remontoire, MB&F Legacy Machine Split Escapement, and Cartier Tank Cintrée, all chosen for their rarity and unique appeal.
) consideration, I have managed to shortlist these three candidates. Most of you have seen the wonderful movements of these watches so I shall merely post wrist shots of my wearing these beauties and perhaps you can impartially let me know which you think fits my wrist best. I have decided on three quite different watches which only similarity is perhaps the price range they fall into. I really wish I could afford all three but a major and arguably only drawback of retirement is the absence of that monthly salary!!
So I might just be able to afford one but hey I am not complaining as these really are quite special watches - the ever popular Gronefeld Remontoire with its exquisite movement, the latest MB&F Legacy Machine which is arguably its most attractive with its ingenious split escapement and last but not least the beautiful Cartier tank Cintree with its specially made curved rectangular movement issued to commemorate 100 years of the tank watch. All three will be pretty rare, the Gronefeld in stainless steel which is my desired case will be issued in 25 pieces, the MB&F with the eye catching frosted blue dial will be issued in 18 pieces while the Cartier in rose gold will only be issued in 100 pieces.

at least that would be the one I would chose. Cheers, Dirk
It would be interesting to see which watch gets the most votes but it is difficult to say no to the Remontoire irrespective what watch it is up against.
other than that it is an MB&F. Of the other two, I might go wth the Gronefeld because it is a Remontoire...but that Cartier! And everyone should own a Cartier, at least once in his or her lifetime. It looks pretty damn good on your wrist, too.
That is conveniently the order of the photos! But that could very well be the final order
I’m pretty sure the 1941 Remontoire will win the contest 😊 Best wishes Alkiro
That's a strong vote for the Cartier and that curved case hugged my wrist like it belonged there. In fact, I purposely chatted up the sales lady for 90 minutes so that I could keep the watch on my wrist!
