Patrick_y's follow-up on the H. Moser x MB&F Endeavour Tourbillon offers invaluable insights into the real-world wearability of this distinctive collaboration. His detailed observations, particularly concerning the watch's unique sapphire dome, address practical considerations often overlooked in initial reviews. This article serves as an essential resource for collectors contemplating such an unconventional yet horologically significant timepiece.

Following up on the previous post and review about the H. Moser x MB&F Collaboration along with our LIVE REVIEW of the H. Moser Endeavour Tourbillon, here are some more thoughts about the H. Moser Endeavour Tourbillon!

Notice these two indoor shots.  The left photo looks like a ruby red wine, while the right photo looks like a purplish wine.

Blurry Lume Shot

As many of you know, I had the pleasure of borrowing one of the H. Moser x MB&F Endeavour Tourbillons for a short period of time last month.  I’m pleased to state that it was an awesome timepiece!  Some of you submitted questions to me and I've included them in some notes I’ve made:

1.     The Dome, Does It Get In The Way?  Is it comfortable?

Yes, there is that amazing sapphire dome that probably takes several hours for a machine to mill out of a giant boule of sapphire.  Does it get in the way?  Does it get knocked?

I was a little worried about this as well and I vowed to be careful.  Fortunately, I didn’t have any problems and not even any close calls.  I wore the Endeavour Tourbillon only with short sleeves (it won’t fit under a shirt cuff) and although I didn’t go out very much, it was never in the way despite its massive 19mm height.  While 19mm height does sound VERY SCARY, it’s actually not that bad, because keep in mind, only a very small point of the watch is that high (the top of the dome) whereas the vast majority of the watch is around 12mm high.

You can't see it, but the sapphire here has cambered edges so the watch stays centered on your wrist.  Very intelligent design!

Despite my nervousness, the watch was super comfortable and a joy to wear actually.  The back side has a display crystal so you can see the H. Moser movement.  If you look very carefully you can actually notice this crystal is cambered so it stays centered on your wrist!  This adds a lot of comfort to the watch and helps it stay hunkered down on your wrist.  The watch hugs my small wrist perfectly and was surprisingly comfortable.  I cannot stress enough, this watch was much more comfortable than I expected.  While I wasn’t going out much due to Coronavirus, I see no reason why a careful individual couldn’t wear this watch on a regular basis.

The clasp works very well and is very comfortable!

2.     Why is the crown on the left?  Is it for left-handers?

The watch movement was conceived with the seconds to be on the bottom of the watch.  But given the layout of the time dial had to be at the 6 o’clock side, the movement was reversed so the tourbillon would be at 12 o’clock.  Thus, the winding crown had to switch sides.

The watch wears well on both the left wrist and the right wrist!  It’s certainly an ambidextrous option!

The strap is a nubuck alligator strap.  That nubuck is pretty cool and this is the first time I've seen a nubuck alligator strap.  I would still prefer a strap that doesn't use alligators nor crocodiles since they endure hours of intense pain when they're slaughtered.

3.     Got any more pictures of that amazing dial?

This metallic dial is definitely amazing.  You’ve got a sunburst effect and a fume dial that gets darker on the edges.  With the big sapphire crystal and the wine-red color, I’m often thinking this is a great watch to drink wine with!  The big crystal almost looks like a wine glass?  A big Burgundy wine glass.

4.     Who is the buyer for this watch?

Anyone really.  Anyone who loves haute horlogerie and isn’t stuck to only traditional watches.  True, Moser normally makes more traditional watches.  While WatchProSite normally has an audience for fancy watches like Tourbillons and fine minute repeaters, many of us definitely appreciate fine watches in any capacity, down to even a Quartz watch or to the strangest creations from MB&F.  This H. Moser Endeavour Tourbillon is for that unique individual who likes what he likes, is a trendsetter, and has an unabashed love for incredible timepieces.  Oh, and if you’re a wine lover, this watch with its burgundy dial is the watch for you!

The watch is an incredible value; it's a high end tourbillon with a relatively reasonable price tag!

Thank you again for reading!  Enjoy the photos and I hope you get the privilege to see this awesome cool timepiece in person.  It's definitely very different and unexpected.  A UFO for the wrist!  Many thanks to the team at H. Moser for making this review possible!

I don't have any grape vines in my garden, but I found a nice Japanese Maple to take a photo with!  Thank you for reading!

It’s such an unconventional yet somehow also classical watch. I can’t decide if I’m a huge fan or the opposite. One thing is for sure: the craftsmanship is beyond any doubt Must indeed be strange to wear such a watch.

I find that the watch grows on you. It's definitely different and strange, but also likable. And the impracticality didn't bother me at all.
