The Hublot Big Bang reference 401.CX.0123.VR is a notable iteration within the Big Bang Unico line, distinguished by its flyback chronograph function and skeletonized dial. This reference emphasizes a contemporary aesthetic, characteristic of Hublot's design philosophy, combining advanced materials with a visible mechanical movement. It represents a core offering in the brand's larger chronograph collection, appealing to collectors interested in modern watchmaking and bold design.
This timepiece features a 45 mm black ceramic case, providing durability and a distinctive matte finish. It is equipped with the in-house HUB1242 automatic flyback chronograph movement, offering a substantial power reserve of 72 hours. The watch is fitted with a sapphire crystal, ensuring clarity and scratch resistance, and is water-resistant to 100 meters. The bezel is also crafted from black ceramic, complementing the case material.
This reference appeals to collectors seeking a robust and technically sophisticated chronograph with a strong visual presence. Its skeleton dial provides a direct view of the movement's architecture, a key feature for enthusiasts of mechanical horology. The use of black ceramic throughout the case and bezel contributes to its cohesive and modern appearance, positioning it as a significant piece within the Big Bang Unico series.
Ken, Inexplicably, I am strangely drawn to the Big Bang Zebra Gold :-) Sometimes, when you need to go 'over-the-top', its best to really GO...... But seriously, the classic ultra-thins are all good except the 'skeleton' for me. Real watches for real people in the real world. Not just "wham bang wallop" look-at-me of the Big range. Regards, MTF
Despite I've never been a big fan of Hublot, there are some watches in the collection that look very nice. I've owned a Classic GMT and an Elegant Chronograph, sold them both, didn't like them on the wrist. It's a brand I like to see on someone else's wrist but not mine. Some nice novelties for 2013, the BB Jeans looks fantastic, love it in pics. The Ferrari collection are very well made watches, and a nice interpretation of what Ferrari is to the world of luxury/sport cars, wish them better luc
My fav of this selection: the Chrono Aero of course! I really like this watch. Thanks for the report! Fx
... the classic ultra thin with lacquer dial will be a big hit. Very, very well made and stylish.... Ken
.. yes, they are evolving and they launch more "matured" models year after year. Classic fusion series had been a bit low profile, sort of easy to ignore series, but these days, it has been attracting different type of people and that gave the depth and width to the line-up and the clientele. Thank you again, Vte! Ken
...the Ultra Thin Titanium and the Aero Chrono Titanium. If only they came in a smaller case size. HAGWE, Richard
