This event marked the inauguration of the WBC Pension Fund, supported by the auction of 12 unique Hublot King Power WBC watches. His detailed account provides an insider's view of a significant moment for both luxury watch collecting and the boxing community.
Hublot invited me to cover their World Boxing Council (WBC) event in Vegas at The Bellagio that took place this past weekend. This was going to be a once in a lifetime event because it will be the inauguration of the WBC Pension Fund for support and appreciation of the great fighters involved in the sport of Boxing. There are many boxers around the world who no longer fight, suffer injuries, and unable to pay bills. So this new pension fund would greatly help those boxers. As a result, it may also help bring back the sport of boxing since boxing seems to have waned in popularity ever since the introduction of the UFC and mixed martial arts.
Hublot CEO Ricardo Guadalupe and WBC President Jose Sulaiman are here to support the WBC Pension Fund along with many Legends of Boxing. Hublot created 12 unique Hublot King Power WBC watches for each of the 12 Legends of Boxing (Mike Tyson, Sugar Ray Leonard, Lennox Lewis, Jeff Fenech, Larry Holmes, Ken Norton, Tommy Hearns, Roberto Duran, Azumah Nelson, Julio Cesar Chavez, Oscar De La Hoya, and George Forman) with the WBC logo on the sapphire back along with each World Champion's signature. And a twin watch was given to each of these Legends to keep.
Since this is a watch forum, I'll start with showing pictures of the 48mm Hublot King Power WBC watch w/ rose gold case and black ceramic bezel. Green accents are used on the watch to match the green championship belts.

I have written up an extensive report with tons of pictures and videos from Friday and Saturday September 28th and 29th covering the inauguration of the WBC Pension Fund. There are a couple interviews with video coverage of several of the watch auctions for you to see to grasp the aura of the event.
Michael Buffer was our host on gala dinner night and even world renowned auctioneer Malcolm Barber was here to auction of the 12 watches. Hublot's press release of the event is here: hublot.watchprosite.com . My report will be a sequence of events to show what exactly took place at the event.
Below are a couple sample pictures from my report, and hope you enjoy it!
Cheers,
Anthony

Here's the setup inside Tower Ballroom 4. Each of the boxers had his own area w/ his boxing robe and Hublot King Power WBC watch, and below are are a couple of the areas. Not all the boxers were here yet but there were enough to keep the room busy. I believe Larry Holmes, Mike Tyson, Lennox Lewis, and Tommy Hearns were amongst the first boxers to arrive. (Sorry for the poor pictures. I snapped pics with my phone this day instead of with my DSLR) Adorned to the walls were large photomontages of t
I slowly worked my way to the front and managed to squeeze in a few questions. I didn't want to ask the usual questions because I can tell he was getting tired of the same type of questions being asked over and over, so I figure some watch questions would get him excited and catch him off guard. Hey, this is PuristSPro so why not some watch questions? Mike's eyes gleamed and he seemed to smile more after I asked my first question, so looks like he was glad I asked him a "new" question.
