ED209 explores the vibrant and 'blinged-out' Hublot Tutti Frutti collection, a stark contrast to the brand's Masterpiece series. This post delves into the design philosophy behind these colorful Big Bang variations, particularly their appeal to a fashion-conscious audience and the thoughtful details that make them stand out.
Maybe this is too radical for Hublot fans to accept?
I'm not sure, maybe the Big Bangs variations are simply
extremely popular. So let's go back to looking at a few variations of the Big
Bangs.
I noticed that recently our Hublot moderator KIH posted a fun set of pictures with a totally blinged out Big Bang with a diamond encrusted bezel, case, and central links on the bracelet. And there was a press release a few weeks ago for the upcoming Baselworld 2013 where Hublot introduced a Big Bang Caviar red gold with diamonds and even a stainless version with diamonds. Also my fellow moderator Ping Tsai posed a question in our Bulgari forum and asked 'why do men wear watches with diamonds?'. So this made me think of my previous meetings with the Hublot staff on their Big Bang collection. At that time, I was shown an incredible selection of color combinations for the Big Bang series. At first I was a skeptical about the colors and the bling, but the more I looked at it the more I thought that this was a pretty good idea. More importantly there were some details on the watches that were well thought out.

Let's start out with a few ladies watches. I was
viewing this collection with my fiance and she immediately went over to
the tray with these colorful watches and started picking them
up. I was more drawn towards the blued colored collection
since my favorite color is blue (more on this in a follow up post). As we
looked at the watches I noticed a few details that were in my opinion
very nicely done.

The precious metal cases are midsized and the circular bezel is set with 48 baguette stones to match the color of case and strap. The center and sides of the case have a colored composite resin insert flange that are perfect color matches to the strap and stones.
The dial has a shiny reflective mirrored surface and matching
colored hour markers. The straps are very comfortable and
feature a colored gummy-alligator strap combination that has rubber on
the inside and alligator on the top side. To my eyes, all of these details makes everything just works together in harmony.

Here's a close up of the mirrored dial. The hour, minute and seconds hands have matching colors applied to them. The bezel and case have alternating polished and brushed finishes.

So what do you think? Could you see yourself (or your
significant other) wearing one of these blinged watches? And how much bling would be too much?

I am in favor of blue mirrored dial with diamond bezel.... for perhaps ladies.... For men, stone bezel watches are not so bad. Sure diamond baguette bezel sure looks good, but these color stone bezel may not be a bad choice for men either. I could wear blue, orange, perhaps yellow for the weekend vacation watch.. :-) Too feminine? Well, YMMV. Perhaps many prefer bigger bling bling for men's wrists. Thanks again, Ed! Very good question and article. Ken
Which are darker and I'll post about that soon. Regards, ED-209
The colors of the Tutti Frutti collections are inspired from the Hermès Birkin colors. So a lady with the ultimate handbag who likes a bit color coordination can have a matching watch :) My wife finds the Tutti Frutti colors pretty, but prefers something more versatile and easier to match with her outfits. She's more of a black and white type of gal ;)
Hi Amr KSA, Thanks for that bit of information, now the more I think about it, it makes perfect sense to have it match Birkin bag colors for those fashionable women to pair a color coordinated watch as an accessory. And nice pair of black and white Big Bangs, thanks for sharing your pic. Is your wife interested in the movements of watches too? Regards, ED-209
LOL... The vibrant colors remind me of walking by the Polo/Ralph Lauren section at Bloomingdales or Benetton stores with all their colors. I don't see myself getting one of these any time soon, but there is a purple one that looked really nice and would make a great gift for my significant other. We'll see... :) Regards, ED-209
Niche market is all I will say. But I can see how the ladies might take to it. Then again, the wife wants a Cartier, VCF and Piaget (not in any order) well ahead of a Hublot.
