Jack Johnson's early ownership experience with the IWC Big Pilot Tourbillon Shock Absorber offers a valuable first look at this distinctive timepiece. His initial impressions, particularly regarding the watch's aesthetic and wearability, provide crucial insights for collectors considering this unique reference. This article synthesizes community reactions to the watch's design elements, notably its 'rubber bumpers,' and explores how these features influence its perceived character.

I think I must be one of the first owners on this model. Liking it a lot so far - including because of

a very nice combo of colors - black and gold.

I am so glad to see it this way. When they showed me this watch I could not imagine wearing it with those extra plastic buffers around the case, but thought without it was quite handsome. You are proving this here, I would wear it this way as well. Very cool!

It wears smaller than the iconic classic Big Pilot and the crown is less intrusive as well.
