Amanico's post on the IWC Portofino challenges conventional notions of dress watch sizing, arguing that a larger diameter can be justified by the movement it houses. His perspective invites collectors to reconsider the aesthetic and technical balance of form and function in horology. This discussion highlights how design choices, particularly watch dimensions, directly relate to the underlying caliber and its historical context.

I said, IWC is for me the leader of dress watches. I wrote it different, but i hope you understand it what i wrote. The Portofino in question is the model that i see as a neutral fine made dress watch. The one you post is for me again the evidence. While i think again of the Portofino, maybe it is time to get one on my wrist.

Another 10/10 for me.👌
Sensually beautiful. A pocket watch movement. From the good old times of times before yield management was even known.
